Effective July 12, 2026
Play Your Music keeps imported songs, generated charts, scores, and settings on your device. The app uses Apple services for music and purchases and Google services for consent and advertising.
Who operates the app
Play Your Music is provided by John Monty. Privacy questions can be sent to teryakilabs@gmail.com.
Music and gameplay data stored locally
When you import an audio file, the app copies the file and available embedded artwork into private Application Support storage that is not exposed through Files or Finder. Generated beat maps, scores, combos, medals, achievements, timing settings, and style selections are also stored locally.
Play Your Music does not upload imported audio, Apple Music selections, generated charts, or gameplay records to a server operated by John Monty.
Apple Music
If you choose Apple Music, the app requests media-library permission and uses Apple media services to display eligible library items and control playback. Song identifiers, titles, artists, duration, and cached artwork may be stored locally so the item can appear in your Play Your Music library. Apple Music availability depends on your account, subscription, region, and content rights.
Apple processes information under its own Privacy Policy.
Advertising, consent, and tracking
The free version uses Google Mobile Ads for banners and between-song interstitials and Google User Messaging Platform for consent choices. Depending on your region, consent, device settings, and ad configuration, Google may process:
- Device identifiers and advertising data.
- Approximate location inferred from network information.
- Product interactions and ad engagement.
- Crash, performance, and other diagnostic information.
These data may be used for third-party advertising, developer advertising, analytics, consent functionality, fraud prevention, and service operation. Device identifiers may be linked to you and may be used for tracking when permission and applicable law allow it.
On iOS, the app requests App Tracking Transparency authorization before tracking. You can decline and continue playing. Where required, Options includes Privacy Choices for revisiting Google consent. You can also limit tracking in iOS Settings.

In-app purchases
Remove Ads and premium themes are non-consumable purchases processed by Apple through StoreKit. The app reads verified StoreKit entitlements to unlock products and restore purchases. John Monty does not receive your full payment-card details.
Retention and deletion
Local app data remains until you delete a song, reset associated content where available, or remove the app. Deleting a local song removes its app-managed audio copy and artwork. Removing the app deletes the remaining local app container according to iOS behavior.
Advertising and purchase providers retain information under their own policies and legal obligations. Use the provider's controls or contact the provider for requests involving data they control.
Children
Play Your Music is not designed as a children-specific service and does not knowingly operate accounts or collect contact information from children. The App Store age rating and family controls should be used to decide whether the app is appropriate for a particular user.
Security and international processing
Reasonable platform and development safeguards are used to protect local app data. Third-party providers may process information in countries other than where you live, subject to their policies and applicable transfer protections.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated when the app, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised, and material changes may be communicated through the app or product page where appropriate.
